It's been over a week since the oral arguments in Ayotte v. Planned Parenthood, the case in which the U.S. Supreme Court will decide whether to strike down New Hampshire's law requiring that a parent be notified 48 hours prior to a minor's abortion. And in blog time, that's like a century, but the case is still pending and awaiting a decision that will have significant implications for future abortion jurisprudence. So even though I haven't had time to address it sooner, give me a chance now. Meanwhile, while I'm working on my post, there is someone who has been a little more on the ball than I: to get your mind wrapped around the far reaching implications of Ayotte, go immediately to The American Prospect and read Scott Lemieux's article.
